Established in 1890, Hiron and Son’s Artisan Butchers are an award winning North Devon butchers. Looking to expand their business without becoming encumbered by rising retail rates and high street rents, the decision to move online seemed an obvious one.
We first engaged with Hiron and Son’s in 2018 and quickly moved to place their business into high ranking SERPS’s for high traffic keywords. Beginning with dominating local search, we embarked on a digital PR campaign to build high quality inbound links that rapidly improved domain authority enabling us to target higher traffic keywords and begin appearing in national search results.
Then, through enabling WooCommerce online trading capabilities and offering a local delivery service, Hiron & Son’s expanded into online orders and click and collect services which resulted in a 300% increase in turnover. Then, during 2019, the COVID19 pandemic hit and Hiron’s business surged due to exceptional local demand for home deliveries and good provenance.
By Christmas 2020, the demand for Hiron’s produce had become so high that something had to be done. That’s when we received the call from Scott, telling us to temporarily suspend the online ordering platform due to exceptional demand. It’s not how things usually work when it comes to creating demand but it proves how effective a Strategic Digital Marketing campaign can be.
